Recognised by artists such as Krzysztof Penderecki and Maxim Vengerov, in 2024 the duo received Poland’s most prestigious classical music award — the “Polityka Passport”. The duo was honoured for its “versatility and ability to move between different musical worlds. For virtuosity, unbridled imagination and inventiveness in selecting and creating new repertoire for the unusual combination of violin and accordion.” The ensemble has also won Grand Prix awards at international competitions in Europe, as well as nominations for the FRYDERYK Award for its album devoted to Polish contemporary music. Duo Karolina & Iwo has performed in more than 30 countries on five continents, giving concerts in North America, South America, Australia, Asia and Europe, in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore, The Edge Melbourne in Australia, Teatro del Lago in Chile, Guangzhou Opera House in China and the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
